David and Goliath
1 Samuel 17 (Junior Version)
David was a young shepherd who loved God. He looked after his father’s sheep and played songs to praise the Lord.
One day, a giant named Goliath came to fight Israel’s army. Everyone was afraid, but David trusted God and said, “I will fight him!”
David took five smooth stones and his sling. When Goliath came closer, David swung his sling and the stone hit Goliath right on the forehead. The giant fell down!
David defeated Goliath because he trusted in God’s strength, not his own. The people praised God for helping David win.
