One day, a rich young man ran up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what must I do to have eternal life?”

Jesus told him to keep God’s commandments — not to steal, lie, or hurt others, and to honour his parents.

The young man said, “I’ve done all these since I was a boy.”

Jesus looked at him with love and said, “There’s one thing you still lack — sell what you have, give to the poor, and follow Me.”

The man went away sad because he had many possessions. Jesus said it’s hard for the rich to enter God’s kingdom, but with God, all things are possible.
