Zacchaeus Climbs the Tree

Luke 19:1–10 (Junior Version)

Zacchaeus Climbs the Tree

Zacchaeus was a man who collected taxes in the city of Jericho. He was rich, but many people didn’t like him because he often took more money than he should.

One day, Jesus came to Jericho. A huge crowd gathered to see Him, but Zacchaeus was very short and couldn’t see over the people.

So Zacchaeus ran ahead and climbed a tall sycamore tree to get a better view of Jesus as He passed by.

When Jesus reached the tree, He looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, come down! I want to stay at your house today.”

Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and welcomed Jesus joyfully. He promised to give half of his money to the poor and repay anyone he had cheated four times as much. Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to this house.”
